Dental Hygiene Treatment

Dental Hygienist

You no longer need to see the dentist before you see the hygienist, it is now possible to book hygienist appointments directly.

Preventative dental care is key to ensuring that your teeth and gums remain as healthy as possible throughout your life. This prevention starts with ensuring that you have good overall oral health care as part of your personal daily life, backed up by professional dental hygiene services to help keep you on track.

Your Oral Health

So that you know the best ways to maintain your oral health, we offer dental education during your visits to the practice. Generally, this will include advice on the best ways to brush and floss your teeth together with dietary advice where appropriate.

At Valley Dental in Anglesey, our dental team includes hygienists who focus on the prevention of gum disease and other oral health issues. Where there is a build-up of plaque, the hygienist will remove this using a ‘scale and polish’ to reduce the risk of the onset of gum disease.

We ask our patients to visit us for a check-up at least twice a year. This enables us to monitor your overall oral health as well as checking for early possible indications of oral cancers.

Whilst these twice yearly visits are sufficient for most patients, some, such as those who suffer from diabetes or other illnesses, may be recommended to visit us more often.

If you are keen to bring your oral health up-to-scratch and to begin regular dental check-ups, please call the team at Valley Dental on 01407 741 730 or use the website contact form to arrange an appointment.
